If at first you don’t succeed…

We recently helped the Every Child a Reader organization celebrate Children’s Book Week, the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. In addition to the numerous nationwide events, the group distributes tote bags (perfect for kids to tote their books!) featuring the original design from the commemorative Book Week poster.

2013 poster by Caldecott winning illustrator, Brian Selznick.

That’s where we come in. We were happy to work with the group to produce their tote bags.

Not to get too geeky on you, but we used a simulated process to produce the bags. The process uses traditional spot colors, yet blends them in a four-color process manner, simulating full-color images and allows us to produce very realistic images and the best look for your design. We wanted to be sure to capture Selznick’s work and the organization wanted a “dreamy” look.

Numerous press check and not-quite-right bags later, we were all happy with the final bag:

It didn’t matter to us how many press checks and how many process-tweaks later, what mattered most was the happy client and happy kids with bags full of books.

At the core of our beliefs is a dedication to quality. If we’re gonna do something, we’re gonna do it right. Every time.

Stainless: Clean. Pure. Solid.

It’s always important to drink your water, but as the days get hotter it’s even more important to stay hydrated.

Don’t just reach for any old water bottle, make it stainless steel. WHY? The benefits speak for themselves:

  • Most hygienic material available: so hygienic that the same material is often used in the manufacture of surgical equipment and kitchen utensils.
  • Provides bacteria resistance.
  • Retains flavor and purity of the drink.
  • Environmentally friendly: no more plastic bottles!
  • Indestructible! Scratch and dent resistant.
  • Rust free.
  • Dishwasher safe.
  • Provides GREAT insulation: Stores cold water for 24 hours and keeps water hot for almost six hours (and heat is rarely transferred to the hands through a stainless bottle).

PLUS, you can get them in such cool shapes, colors and designs!

The Swag Bag

We’ve been enjoying unseasonably great weather here in the Midwest. The greening of the grass and pleasant temperatures have us all thinking about golf.  And our clients are thinking about their golf fundraisers.

Sure, there’s the invite list, the booking of the course, food selection, sponsorships, auction items, but let’s be honest about what everyone loves the most: the Swag Bag.

As you plan your event and think about giveaways, you want to be sure you are spending your money on branded items that people will keep, use, and enjoy.

Here’s our take on a few of the more popular items:

Golf balls: a great way to feature your logo and every golfer needs golf balls. Golfers will appreciate a higher quality ball, but they will likely get lost. On a positive note, whoever finds the lost ball will also see your logo!

Divot tools, golf towels, ball markers: fairly inexpensive to produce and have a high likelihood of being kept.

Golf umbrella: will likely be kept, but is a higher cost and may not get much use on the course.  Still, a nice item appreciated by golfers.

Tees: cheap, but a throw-away item with not much imprint space for your logo.

Visors/hats: a highly popular item that will get lots of use, but many golfers are picky about what they’ll wear. They like to wear the brand that matches their clubs, balls, etc. Choose wisely.

Polos or other shirts/jackets: Everyone likes free apparel, but again, choose wisely – you’ll have to order a wide variety of sizes to fit all golfers and, like the hats, many golfers are brand-loyal.

A few top golf brands: Nike, Antigua, Adidas, Titleist, and Callaway. You’ll be pretty safe with any of these choices.

Bottom line: people like free stuff. If you select attractive, high-quality products, your golfers will either enjoy it for themselves or give away to another golfer who will.

Half empty, half full…whatever you want.

We all get a little excited around here when a new product arrives. While most of them are pretty self-explanatory as to how it’s used (a pen, jacket, travel mug), we recently got one that made our minds race with possibilities.

This:

A sleek, clean, multipurpose glass bottle with a cap.
It’s earth-friendly, functional, and different that a lot of the
things we see come through here.

So we took it for a test drive:

Cool, right? So who wants it? Imagine your logo on it and your customers/clients using this over and over again – on their desk, in their kitchen. Who knows where else?!?

Give us a call or write. We’d love to hook you up!

Why We Won’t Sell You a 6-cent Pen

Quality matters, that’s why. It matters to Promolux and it matters to our clients. Our clients put their heart and soul into their business, and where they put their logo should reflect their dedication, commitment and quality of work.

Cheaper isn’t always better. While we go to great lengths to give our clients a great product at a great price, we won’t sacrifice quality for cost. We’re all better than that.

Consider this quote by William A. Foster, “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”

Foster was a U.S. Marine who received the Medal of Honor for his “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty” during World War II during the Battle of Okinawa.

Certainly we’re not fighting any wars, putting our lives at risk or winning any medals of honor. But we can carry out our work with integrity, go the distance to do our best and be intentional about quality.  Our clients deserve it. And we just don’t know any other way.
